I agree with your intuition but think you have interpreted it wrong.
I don?t think it will be a terrorist attack, but full-scale nuclear attack either by Israel on Iran or the other way around.
I believe that Iran is a lot further along than we hear reported. I also believe that Iraq was very close to deploying WMDs and the reason we didn?t find them was because they were moved to Iran and Syria.
We will find out soon.

Well GL, I hope very very much that we can all bring up this post on 6/7/06 and say how you were all worried about nothing.
But I know that people take numerology very seriously (Kabbalah anyone?) and although I had not considered it before, you have a point about the date.
But my intuition is giving me very bad vibes about some kind of terrorist attack on June 6th. It's a Tuesday, as was 09/11.
Look at the psychological impact of the date: 06/06/06.
Like I said I hope I'm wrong but my instinct is telling me, be extra careful on that day.

An exchange between Iran/Israel has been on my mind too. 06/06 was the same day the 6 Day War started in 1967 wherein The Arab League vowed to "drive Israel into the sea" and got their asses kicked and lost territory instead, and on 06/06/82 Israel invaded Lebanon driving out the Palestinians.

Fascist Opus Dei fanatics practice "acts of personal mortification", but they openly describe these acts as nothing more than fasting, celibacy, etc etc. But then again, as with most "publicly open" secret societies, they only tell you what they want you to know.
They are known as the radical right wing crazies of the Catholic Church, and they have had some major success in snaking their way into the top echelons of the Church hierarchy. So if you combine a cult-like group with a religion that is known for keeping secrets, you get a very clandestine organization that has mastered disinformation. That being said however, I don't know of any violent personally destructive physical rites they preform.

These people are dangerous. At the battle of Nicopolis in Hungary in 1396 the combination of (what we now call) English, French, Germans and Italians got together with the Hungarians and defeated the Ottoman Empire. That's what stopped Islam from conquering Eastern Europe.
Ferdinand and Isabella of Christopher Columbus fame stopped them from taking over Spain. Now if the French coalition had lost at Nicopolis and Spain had been overrun we'd all be ragheads.
Islam's goal then and now is to convert every single person in the world by whatever means necessary. And while Christianity was no better back in the 7th century, that's not their doctrine now. Islam is stuck in the 7th century.
For those of you who have read Frank Herbert's Dune, you'll know that when developing the Fremin culture, he based it all on his study of Islam.
